Our mission as Missionaries of the Kingship of Christ is to be witnesses in and to the world of the love of Christ and the joy of St. Francis.
These ideals are what we strive to do. Our vow of chastity and promises of poverty, and obedience permit us to be “leaven and salt” in the world as we imitate Christ “poor, chaste, and obedient.”
The life is one of total consecration to God in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi in order to fulfill a mission in the world. SIM members do not live in Community or share a common apostolate. The name, “Missionaries of the Kingship of Christ reminds its members of the purpose of their consecration- mission of giving witness to Christ first born of all creatures and Lord of the universe. Missionaries collaborate in spreading the reign of God. They become the original sign of the mission of the church in the world through lives of witness and service.
Pope Francis has commented that “This is why your vocation (consecrated secularity) is fascinating because it takes place here, where the salvation of man is played out and not just of man but of institutions too… The Lord spoke to us about the grain of wheat. Your life is like the grain…wherever you are do everything for the Kingdom here and to come. Be the yeast, be the grain which makes the Kingdom grow."
